As the 2012 season ends, George Gray and the Elvis Experience Band THRILL fans!

George Gray and the Elvis Experience Band is becoming to be known as a “Vegas Entertaining” style show with quality vocals and showmanship. With all the preparation that went into the, “Christmas with the King”, concert on Nov 24th, it turned out to be an amazing performance.
As with every show, we want to give our audience a different experience to keep it fresh and new. The challenge is making sure we keep Elvis’s traditional songs that everyone wants to hear and adding new songs so the show doesn’t become a “rerun”. Good thing he recorded over 400 of them!
As the band and I decide on a song list, we think about the visual part of the show. I really enjoy attending live concerts, not only for the music but to see different stage and light designs. I had the privilege to see Olivia Newton-John perform last month and really liked how her stage was setup and decided to do the same. Her band was up on different leveled platforms and in a horseshoe shape. This accomplished two things: It got the band up where everyone could see them and it really opened up the stage for me.
I also wanted to add some additional visual flare and invited a local dance group, the Colorado Dance Collective, to join me on stage. WOW! These young college women added so much to the show and I had a blast! The audience and band were amazed and everyone had the best compliments.
On my next post, I’ll talk about my decision on wearing new outfits and the thoughts behind those decisions.
